Andrew chose the longest settee in my sitting-room and draped himself along it lengthways. “Nice pad,” he said, throwing his eyes around the room. “Great for pulling. eorge chose an armchair and sat on the edge of it, eager to get down to business. “Who’ve you managed before?” he asked brusquely. Andrew remained stretched out. From the coffee-table he picked up a book - something I’d written about the music business in the sixties - and started browsing through it. George remained suspicious. “We won’t want you looking after our money,” he said. “We’ll be appointing accountants.” “Fantastic, man,” Andrew commented a couple of times from his reclined position, then turned to George, “Seems like Simon spent most of the sixties either drunk or having sex. He sounds just the right person for us.” George ignored him. “What guarantees can you give us? We won’t want to give you a contract unless we have guarantees.” Their different personalities complimented each other well; more important, though, was the quality of the three records they’d released – ‘Wham Rap’, ‘Young Guns’ and ‘Bad Boys’ – all with extraordinary vitality and super-sharp lyrics. If I was going to go back to managing a pop group, at least these two guys were talented and well-spoken. And they had a wonderful image - pure Hollywood - ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ – two regular guys, closer than lovers.

Pepsi & Shirlie - дуэт двух бэк-вокалисток Wham! вновь напоминает о себе Немного истории: из книги Ольги Судаковой "Джордж Майкл" (Москва, изд-во "Панорама", 1999 г.): ...Джордж всегда высоко ценил их. В течение нескольких лет после распада "Wham!" девушки делали собственную карьеру, в 1986 создав свой дуэт и назвав его просто "Pepsi & Shirlie". Сразу после прощального концерта "Wham!" Пепси и Ширли подписали контракт со звукозаписывающей компанией Polydor и записали несколько синглов-баллад. Первый из них, "Heartache", по странной иронии судьбы дошёл лишь до второго места, потому что на заветном первом восседал их бывший босс Джордж Майкл в дуэте с Аретой Франклин ("I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)"). После выпуска сингла "Goodbye Stranger" девушки подготовили дизайн одежды для подростков, которая с успехом распродавалась в крупном магазине "Top Shop". В 1987 году они выпустили альбом "All Right Now". Одноимённая композиция с данного альбома была обработкой известной песни Рода Стюарта. В следующем году они дали много концертов в Японии и Америке и постоянно мелькали в телевизионных программах. Устав от гастрольной жизни, Ширли вышла замуж за Мартина Кемпа, родила дочку и превратилась в обычную домохозяйку.. Справка: Helen "Pepsi" DeMacque (род. 10 декабря 1958, Paddington, London) и Shirlie Holliman (род. 18 апреля 1962, Watford, Hertfordshire) записали и выпустили 2 альбома: "All Right Now" в 1987 и второй, "Change" в 1991 году (автором сингла Someday из которого, являлся George Michael). Далее группа как таковая прекратила свою гастрольную и творческую деятельность. В 1988 году Shirlie Holliman вышла замуж за Martin Kemp, участника группы Spandau Ballet (а теперь и актёра), а в августе 1989 родила дочь Harley Moon (а в январе 1993 у неё появился и сын Roman Kemp). Shirlie Holliman связана с компанией звукозаписи Джорджа - Aegean, в то время как Pepsi уехала на Новую Зеландию, где долгие годы работала в магазине подарков Lambton Quay (что не мешало ей заниматься музыкой). Nestor55: Спасибо вам тоже Я очень рад и за тур и за переиздание альбома (очень хочется услышать песни, не вошедшие в него в первом издании!) Забыл добавить ещё одну важную вещь про Pepsi: она ещё работала с самим Майком Олдфилдом (!!!) - пела, выступала на его концертах, была частью команды Майка.
