GeM8432: вспомним прежние годы.... что-то "новенькое" мне попалось на глаза WHAM! - 09/01/1985 - Day On The Green #2 - Oakland Stadium - Oakland, CA One of the most recognizable names in pop music during the 1980s, Wham! appeared seemingly out of nowhere and took over the world with "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go." The band primarily consisted of vocalist George Michael and guitarist Andrew Ridgeley, along with two female backing vocalists, Pepsi DeMacque and Shirley Holliman. 1985 marked Wham!'s major world tour, after having just moved over from a black leather-clad "moody" band to an all-smiles, happy pop duo look. Unknown to many, although George Michael is the infamous face and name, it was Ridgeley who was the image-maker and spokesperson of the band, as well dealing with a lot of the business end. This show was on Sun. September 1, 1985 at Day On The Green #2 at the Oakland Stadium in Oakland, CA. What made this weekend amusing was that this particular Day On The Green followed the day after the D.O.G. metal fest that featured Scorpions and Metallica, amongst others. Quite the diametric in musical tastes and style. Of course, I had to go to both shows. Opening this show were the Pointer Sisters.
