The careless whisper on the street is that George Michael is heading to Adelaide in early 2010. While Sony reps declined any official comment, I hear that after George plays a New Year's Eve gig in Sydney, he will tour Australia in Janurary - including a stop-off in Adelaide. He'll be bringing his 25 Live Tour which features his biggest solo hits including Faith and Freedom plus old Wham! standards like I'm Your Man. If my sources are to be believed this could be the last chance to catch George performing in a live extravaganza of this scale (although try telling that to the Rolling Stones). So get in quick - the shows across Europe and the UK sold out almost immediately.

The star is expected to go head-to-head with Robbie Williams and the 2009 "X-Factor" winner for the coveted annual spot. He is understood to have signed a one-off deal with Island Records for the release of "December Song", digitally and physically. In 2008, Michael gave the track away for free on his own website and it will now come out again on December 14.
